Societal

One of the most ignored aspects of the formal educational process, in most countries, is the soft-skills that help society to maintain a level of civility and decorum. These two latter issues have many benefits, often intangible but progressive for societal growth. Soft skill and societal education could formerly be encapsulated within the “finishing school” concept, which, sadly, rarely exists in most societies. While traditional finishing schools were elitist, the fundamental principles, on which they were based, are “soft-skills” that help the pupil to navigate social strata and work place acceptable conduct. Many issues that exist in the work place, and in normal life, can be traced back to “accepted norms” that have probably never been taught to the pupil, either at home or from the educational system in which they were raised.

We believe the education of “soft-skills” is important and incorporate this into our guidance for the schools which we support.
